BLACK+DECKER BEW230BC-QS Mouse Detail Sander, 55W with 15 Accessories
Product description
For sanding into corners or other awkward spots during a household job, the BLACK+DECKER BEW230BC-QS Mouse is a compact corded sander with a pointed profile for reaching areas that can be difficult to access with a larger tool. Its stated uses include sanding, polishing and rust removal, on smooth or uneven surfaces.
It has a hook-and-loop sanding system, a dust-removal connector and a non-slip coating. The listing also specifies a bag and 15 accessories, though it does not say what each accessory is for.

The compact format is the main reason to choose this model over a larger general-purpose sander: it is intended for work where access and control matter more than covering a broad surface quickly. For a large, flat area, a larger-format sander may be a more suitable approach. The dust connector is a useful inclusion, but the product details do not specify a collection bag or extraction system for it, so the connector alone should not be taken as a complete dust-management setup.
Who it’s for
It’s a good fit if you have smaller household jobs involving corners, edges or mixed surface shapes, and want one corded tool for sanding as well as tasks such as polishing or rust removal. The hook-and-loop system allows sanding sheets to attach to the base, while the non-slip coating is intended to make the tool more comfortable to hold. These features make it worth considering for occasional DIY work where a compact sander is more practical than a tool designed mainly for open, uninterrupted surfaces.
Buyer feedback is positive about effectiveness and general quality, with some comments describing it as useful across both small and larger areas. Views on value are mixed, so the accessory count and stated tasks may matter more to your decision than assuming it will suit every sanding job. Some buyers also report that the plug is incompatible with UK three-pin sockets. As this is relevant to Irish sockets too, check the plug supplied before buying rather than assuming it will connect directly.
Better avoided if you need confirmed plug compatibility and cannot establish that from the product listing, or if your main task is sanding a large area where a broader tool would be more efficient.
Box contents
The product description lists 15 accessories and a bag. It does not identify the accessories individually, so their types and suitability for particular materials or tasks are not clear from the available details. If you need a specific sanding sheet or attachment for a planned job, do not assume it is included just because the listing gives an accessory total.
Is it worth it?
The BEW230BC-QS is most compelling when its compact shape addresses a real need: reaching corners, working on uneven sections or handling a range of smaller jobs with one corded tool. Its included accessories and bag add to the stated package, but buyer opinions on value are divided, and the plug feedback makes socket compatibility a practical point to settle first. Choose it for access-focused DIY rather than as a substitute for a larger sander when broad, flat surfaces are the priority.
