## Description

Made from chrome vanadium steel, the BGS 70186 set covers hex sizes from 8 mm to 19 mm. Its deep-hole design is intended for stud bolts and deep nuts on threaded rods. Choose the size that matches the fixing and work with a spanner shaped for access around the threaded section.

## Best use cases

This set is suited to fasteners positioned along threaded rods, where a conventional offset ring spanner may not reach or fit around the stud. The deep hole above the hexagonal socket gives the threaded section room, while the 90° offset form helps access nuts in places where a straight tool is less practical.

For a repair involving several nut sizes, having twelve spanners together means you can select the matching hex size rather than relying on a single fixed-size tool. The set is also useful for workshop jobs where deep nuts and stud bolts are part of the task. A standard ring spanner remains a familiar choice for more accessible fasteners, this set is designed for the particular access needs of threaded rods and recessed nuts.

## What stands out

The range spans twelve consecutive hex sizes, giving you a matched tool for nuts from 8 mm through 19 mm. Each spanner has a deep hole to accommodate threaded sections above the nut, addressing a common access issue with stud bolts. The offset layout also allows pivot pins to be inserted, the leverage effect can make applying force more manageable during tightening or loosening.

Chrome vanadium steel, cold-forged construction and a satin chrome-plated finish define the tools’ build. The included pouch keeps the set together between jobs, which is handy when moving between a workbench and a repair area.

## When it makes sense

It suits you if your work regularly involves stud bolts, threaded rods or deep nuts and you want a dedicated range of offset spanners for those fasteners. For a practical job, select the matching hex size and position the deep hole over the threaded section so the socket can engage the nut. The twelve-piece range is useful when different fastener sizes come up across workshop or maintenance tasks.

If most of your work is on exposed, easily reached nuts, a conventional ring spanner may be all you need. For jobs where the threaded rod extends above a deep nut, the BGS 70186 provides the specific access, size coverage and offset design that make this set a useful addition to a workshop tool collection.
