## Description

At 38 cm, this plastic Barbie mermaid brings a hands-on bubble activity to imaginative play. Her pink tail and bodice feature pearl-inspired details, while her long blonde hair has a shimmery colour streak.

The bubble-making tail fin adds an action element to underwater stories. A tray and bubble solution are included, along with a hairbrush for styling her hair between bubble sessions.

What sets this mermaid apart from a traditional fashion doll? The tail can spin to create bubbles, giving children another way to bring their stories to life.

## Key points

The bubble feature is operated by hand: pour the solution into the shell-shaped tray, dip the tail fin, then pull the seashell-shaped tab to spin it. The fin’s cut-outs create bubbles as it turns, making the activity easy to follow and adding a playful focal point to seaside or underwater scenes.

When the bubbles are put aside, the doll remains ready for imaginative play and hair styling. Children can brush her long, colour-streaked blonde hair, invent characters and settings, or build a story around her fantasy-inspired mermaid look. This combination of a play feature and familiar doll play offers a different approach from a mermaid doll focused solely on dressing up or storytelling.

The set includes the Barbie mermaid doll, a tray, a bottle of bubble solution (2 oz.) and a hairbrush. No assembly or batteries are required. Customer feedback often highlights the doll’s appearance and bubble-making feature, opinions on value are mixed, and some buyers find bubble play messy. A wipe-clean play area can make it easier to manage the solution.

## Fit and sizing

The doll measures 38 cm and is intended for children aged 3 years and up. Her long hair gives children room to practise brushing and styling, while the mermaid design suits fantasy play and made-up underwater adventures. The bubble activity can be set up as a separate play moment before returning to stories or hair play.

The doll does not swim or stand alone, so plan for seated or supported play when setting up scenes. The bubble feature is manual: dip the tail fin in the solution in the tray and pull the shell tab to start the spinning action.

## Getting the most from it

Set the tray on a suitable surface, pour in the bubble solution and dip the tail fin before pulling the tab. This makes the steps clear for children and keeps the bubble activity together in one place. Once the bubbles have had their turn, use the included brush to style the doll’s hair and continue the play with new mermaid stories.

A solid pick if you want a mermaid doll that combines character play with a simple, hands-on bubble activity. The contrasting play options make it easy to move from watching the tail spin to creating a story, then to brushing and styling the doll’s long hair.

## Final verdict

Barbie Bubble Sparkle Mermaid brings together a distinctive fantasy look, hair play and a tail-fin bubble feature in one doll. The included tray and solution let children get started with the activity, while the brush supports play between bubble sessions. It suits children aged 3 and up who enjoy mermaid stories and want more than a conventional doll-only play routine.
