## Description

Some tabletop evenings call for a self-contained story, others are about taking an established adventure further. Avalon Hill HeroQuest: The Crypt of Perpetual Darkness is an expansion for groups ready to return to the HeroQuest game system and explore a new series of quests.

Joe Manganiello created the ten quests, which send the party into a long-lost crypt in search of a powerful artefact. The story centres on keeping that treasure from Zargon, with dark encounters and unlikely allies along the way.

What gives this quest pack its distinctive feel at the table? Its black dragon miniature, customised card artwork and foil embellishments add striking details to the adventure, while the quest book and cardboard tiles provide material to bring the crypt setting into play.

## Compatibility & requirements
This pack requires the HeroQuest Game System to play, so it is designed for a group that already has the core game. It supports 2 to 5 players and is recommended for ages 14 and up. The English-language quest material gives the group a new storyline to follow together, with the dragon miniature and themed cards adding character to the adventure.

## How to use it
Bring the quest book into a HeroQuest session and take the party from the threat to their homeland to the depths of the crypt. The ten quests give the group a connected set of adventures, while the included character sheet pad, dice, cards and cardboard tiles supply game materials for the experience. The black dragon miniature provides a prominent antagonist for the tabletop scene, and the foil-embellished cards add a distinctive visual touch as players encounter the story’s challenges.

For example, a group can make this the next chapter of a regular game night: gather the players, use the HeroQuest Game System, then work through the quests as the party pursues the rumoured artefact. The story gives players a shared objective, with room for teamwork, strategy and imaginative role-play as they make their way through the adventure.

## When it makes sense
Choose this pack when the group wants a story-led HeroQuest expansion rather than a standalone game. Its ten quests give players a substantial new adventure to explore, while the dragon miniature and foil-treated cards make it a distinctive addition for collectors as well as for play. For a group with the required game system, it offers a clear next step: return to the table, assemble the party and venture into the Crypt of Perpetual Darkness together.
