## Description

Move photos or other files from memory cards to a laptop through a USB-A port with the Anker AK-68ANREADER-B2A card reader. Its USB 3.0 connection supports transfer rates of up to 5Gbps, and the two card slots let you read and write on two cards at the same time.

The reader is powered through the USB port, so it does not need a separate power supply. Plug-and-play operation keeps everyday transfers straightforward.

## How it fits
This reader is made for card-based transfers with a laptop. It supports SDXC, SDHC, SD, MMC, RS-MMC, microSDXC, microSD and microSDHC cards, as well as UHS-I cards. That broad format support is useful when you work with photos or files stored across different types of memory card.

Both slots can be used for simultaneous reading and writing. For example, you can transfer files from one card while writing to another, without repeatedly unplugging and reconnecting the reader. Mini SD cards are also supported when used with the required adapter.

## Why it makes sense
USB 3.0 offers data transfer rates of up to 5Gbps, helping make card-to-laptop transfers more direct. Actual transfer rates depend on the memory card and the computer’s USB port. The reader also works with USB 2.0 and USB 1.1 ports, so it can be used with those connections too.

Power comes from the USB port, keeping the setup simple at a desk or while organising files on a laptop. Plug-and-play use means no additional driver installation is required for Windows 8, Windows 7 and Windows Vista, or Mac OS X 10.2 and above. An LED indicator shows when the reader is working, giving you a clear visual cue during use.

Compared with relying on a separate adapter for each card format, this reader brings several supported formats together in one USB-A device. It is a practical fit for moving files from different SD and microSD cards, particularly when using two cards in the same workflow.

## Is it worth it?
For laptop users who regularly move files between memory cards and a computer, the key benefit is having support for a range of SD and microSD formats in one USB-A reader. USB 3.0, USB-powered operation and the ability to work with two cards at once make it well suited to organising or transferring files without extra power equipment or repeated reconnections.
