## Description

The 158 x 158 cm polyester chess mat gives this alldoro garden chess set a full-size playing area for outdoor games. Its black-and-white pattern makes the board easy to follow at a glance.

The set includes 32 weather-resistant plastic pieces in two sizes, from pawns at about 13.5 cm tall to a king at about 30 cm. Rounded edges make the pieces easier to grip and move.

A carry bag keeps the set together for storage and transport. Four pegs help secure the mat on the ground, and the game is suitable for children aged 3 and over as well as adults.

## Tips for day-to-day use

Choose a clear, level area where both players can reach the mat and move around it comfortably. Outdoors, use the four pegs to hold the board in place, indoors, the mat offers a larger alternative to playing on a tabletop. The black-and-white squares provide a familiar layout for practising moves, while the oversized pieces are easy to see across the board.

When the game is finished, gather the pieces into the carry bag for storage or taking the set to another play area. With no batteries required and no assembly needed, it is ready for a game once the mat is laid out and secured as needed.

## Why it makes sense

This set brings a classic two-player strategy game into a shared outdoor space. Instead of sitting around a small board, players can see the whole chess layout spread across the mat and move the larger pieces themselves. That makes it a practical choice for garden games, family gatherings and group leisure activities where a tabletop set would feel too compact.

The pieces are made from weather-resistant plastic, while the mat is polyester fabric. The combination is designed for play indoors or outdoors, with the bag helping to keep the set organised between games. Buyers speak positively about the set’s quality and enjoyment, including use both inside and outside, one buyer also notes that children can stay engaged with it for hours.

## Key features

The set contains 32 chess pieces for two players, with larger figures around 25 to 30 cm tall and pawns around 13.5 cm. Their rounded edges make them straightforward to pick up and reposition during play. The 158 x 158 cm mat has a printed black-and-white chessboard pattern, giving each player a clear view of the squares and pieces.

Four pegs help keep the mat in position on the ground, and the carry bag provides a simple way to store and transport the pieces and playing set. Chess offers a shared activity centred on planning and taking turns, making the large-format layout suitable for both experienced players and those learning the game.

## When it makes sense

It makes sense if you want to bring chess beyond the coffee table and give two players room to play in a garden, park or indoor open space. The large board and easily handled pieces suit family games, children’s parties and leisure settings where a visible, hands-on version of chess can bring people together. Recommended for ages 3 and over, the set carries a small-parts choking hazard, so keep the pieces away from children under 3.
