## Description

Some kitchen purchases focus on a single task, this set brings several child-sized tools together for shared food preparation and hands-on learning. Its mix of knives, cutters and boards gives young helpers different ways to take part.

The 13-piece Yasterd set is intended for children aged 36 months to 8 years. Use it alongside an adult, choosing simple preparation tasks such as cutting soft foods or making shaped sandwiches.

What makes a useful kitchen activity for a child? A range of tools can encourage participation while helping them practise coordination, concentration and everyday skills.

## How to use it

Set up a supervised spot at the counter and offer a manageable task, such as using a sandwich cutter or helping prepare suitable ingredients with one of the knives. The included boards provide a place to work, while the Y peeler and crinkle cutter add options for preparing and shaping food. Adult guidance is appropriate whenever children handle the cutting tools, match the task to the child’s age and ability.

The set also suits pretend play and role-play. Children can imitate everyday kitchen routines, recognize colours and shapes, and practise hand-eye coordination as they handle the different tools. Working together makes it easy to turn a meal-preparation moment into a shared activity rather than a separate play session.

- Recommended age: 36 months to 8 years

## What stands out

Instead of building a child’s kitchen activity around one utensil, this set combines tools for cutting, peeling and shaping. The sandwich cutters and crinkle cutter give children creative ways to prepare food, while the assortment of knives supports simple, supervised helping tasks. The wooden knife has a crocodile pattern, and the tools’ range of shapes can keep the activity engaging as children practise using them.

Buyers often describe the set as enjoyable for children and appreciate having little helpers join in kitchen activities. Feedback on sharpness is mixed, and some buyers report durability concerns with the peeler or knives. These are useful points to bear in mind when choosing tasks and supervising use, particularly when children are handling tools around food.

## Is it worth it?

For families looking to involve children in food preparation, the appeal is the variety: one set offers multiple ways to cut, peel and shape, as well as tools for imaginative kitchen play. It makes sense if you want a shared activity that lets a child take on age-appropriate jobs while practising coordination and everyday skills. Compared with choosing a single tool for one preparation task, this 13-piece assortment offers more ways to participate in a supervised cooking session.
