## Description

For gamers, streamers and home network users who need a direct wired connection, the UGREEN 80431 Cat 8 Ethernet cable links compatible equipment through RJ45 connectors.

It supports data transfer rates up to 40 Gbps and a bandwidth of 2000 MHz. Its shielded F/FTP construction is designed to reduce interference, noise and crosstalk.

Need a neat link between nearby devices? The 6 ft cable has a flexible braided exterior for easier routing around a desk or entertainment centre.

## The essentials

This indoor Ethernet cable combines a pure copper core, gold-plated RJ45 connectors and shielded twisted pairs. That combination is designed to help maintain stable signal transmission in a wired network setup. The cotton-braided outer material adds flexibility, making it easier to guide the cable around equipment and keep a short connection organized.

Its Cat 8 specification supports up to 40 Gbps data transfer and 2000 MHz bandwidth. These are the cable’s stated capabilities, the connection also depends on the network equipment and service in use. For a setup where a wired link is preferred to relying on Wi-Fi, the RJ45 connection gives compatible devices a direct path to a router, modem or network switch.

## How it fits

The male-to-male RJ45 connectors are compatible with devices including PS5, PS4, PS3, Xbox One, computers, laptops, modems, routers, TVs, printers, NAS devices and network switches. It also supports VoIP phones and is backward compatible with Cat 7, Cat 6e, Cat 6, Cat 5e and Cat 5 equipment, so it can be used in networks with devices from different Ethernet categories.

For example, connect a gaming console to a router or link a computer to a modem with a wired connection. The 6 ft length suits setups where the equipment is within easy reach, while the braided cable helps with routing around a desk or entertainment unit. The cable is also listed as supporting PoE, the stated exception is the 65 ft length, not this 6 ft version.

## Everyday use

A wired Ethernet cable is a practical choice for a fixed gaming, work or media setup where devices sit near the router or modem. Instead of arranging the connection around a wireless network, plug the RJ45 ends into the compatible devices and route the cable along the desk or entertainment centre. Its round, braided design makes it easier to manage around other equipment, and its shielded construction is intended to reduce interference and crosstalk.

Buyer feedback often praises the connection speed they experience, along with the cable’s construction and flexibility. Reports about connectivity vary, so those experiences are best understood as individual impressions rather than a guarantee of results.

## What to clarify

**Which devices can I connect?** The RJ45 cable works with listed devices such as PS5, PS4, Xbox One, PCs, laptops, routers, modems, TVs and network switches. Both devices need a compatible Ethernet port.

**Can I use it with older Ethernet categories?** Yes. It is backward compatible with Cat 7, Cat 6e, Cat 6, Cat 5e and Cat 5 equipment.

**Does this length support PoE?** The product supports PoE, with the 65 ft length identified as the exception. This cable is 6 ft and can be used for a PoE camera setup with compatible equipment.

## When it makes sense

Choose the UGREEN 80431 when you want a short, shielded Cat 8 cable for a nearby gaming console, computer, router or other RJ45-equipped device. Its braided construction supports tidy routing, while its stated bandwidth and broad backward compatibility make it a useful fit for both newer and older Ethernet setups.
