## Description

Add a warm glow to a patio or pergola with Torkase G40 string lights, a mains-powered option for creating a continuous line of light across outdoor gathering spaces.

The 33 m cable gives you room to follow a garden edge, deck or gazebo, while the G40 LED bulbs produce a warm white, 2200K light.

Shatterproof plastic bulbs and an IP65 rating make these lights suited to outdoor settings as well as indoor use. Built-in hooks help make hanging straightforward.

## The essentials

This festoon-style string has 50 G40 LED bulbs, plus 2 spare bulbs. The warm 2200K colour brings a softer feel to evening dining and social spaces, while the linear cable layout works well along a fence, around a pergola or overhead on a patio. It’s a practical alternative to placing separate lamps around the space when you want one connected run of decorative lighting.

The bulbs are made from shatterproof plastic, and the lights have an IP65 rating. They’re designed for both indoor and outdoor use, so the same string can suit a garden celebration or an indoor dining area. Customers often praise the warm appearance and brightness for backyard settings, feedback on durability and reliability is mixed, so these impressions are best treated as individual experiences rather than a guarantee.

## Best use cases

Use the long cable to define a seating area or add a welcoming backdrop for a wedding or seasonal gathering. In a covered or open garden space, the warm light can add atmosphere without relying on individual candles or portable lamps. The G40 bulbs also suit balconies, decks and gazebos, while indoor use can bring the same decorative style to bedrooms, dining rooms, cafés or bars.

For a practical example, run the lights above a patio table and along a pergola edge to create a consistent glow across the dining area. Their hooks allow you to hang the cable directly or secure it with ties or rope, making it easier to shape the layout around the space.

## Practical tips

Plan the route before hanging so the 33 m cable follows the intended line, then use the hooks to secure it with ties or rope. The lights are dimmable with a compatible dimmer, which is sold separately, allowing you to adjust the ambience for different occasions. The listed voltage is 230 volts, match the power supply and installation to that rating.

## Practical questions

**Can the lights be used indoors and outdoors?** Yes. They’re specified for both settings and have an IP65 rating for outdoor use.

**Can I adjust the brightness?** The lights are compatible with a range of dimmers. A dimmer is not included, so use a compatible one if you want to adjust the light level.

**How long is the string, and how many bulbs are supplied?** The cable is 33 m long and comes with 50 G40 LED bulbs, plus 2 spare bulbs.

## Final verdict

Choose the Torkase GLS-20J2P when you want a long, warm-white light run for a patio, garden or pergola, with shatterproof plastic bulbs, a documented IP65 rating and hooks for flexible hanging. Its 2200K glow makes it a fitting choice for relaxed outdoor dinners and celebrations, while indoor use adds versatility beyond the garden.
