## Description

For PC builders choosing an air cooler for a supported AMD or Intel desktop platform, the Thermalright Peerless Assassin 120 Digital ARGB Black combines a dual-tower heatsink with two fans and a digital-screen top cover.

Its six copper heat pipes and copper base are designed to transfer heat from the CPU into the aluminium radiator. The dual fans provide up to 88.89 CFM of airflow, with PWM control to adjust fan speed in response to system temperature.

Want cooling hardware that also contributes to the look of a build? The black finish, digital top cover and adjustable ARGB lighting bring a distinct visual element to the CPU area.

## Compatibility & requirements
The cooler supports AMD AM4 and AM5, plus Intel LGA1851, LGA1700, LGA1200, LGA1151, LGA1150, LGA1155 and LGA1156 sockets. Check your motherboard’s CPU socket when selecting a cooler, then use the corresponding mounting clips and installation instructions. For AMD installation, the motherboard’s original backplate is used.

The fans connect through a 4-pin PWM interface. ARGB lighting uses a 5V 3-pin connector and can be linked between the two fans. These separate connections let you manage fan speed and lighting through the appropriate motherboard headers and software.

## Practical tips
The 125 x 138 x 162 mm overall size is useful to keep in mind when planning a build around the CPU cooler. A practical installation sequence is to confirm the socket, fit the matching mounting hardware, then connect the PWM and ARGB leads to their respective motherboard headers. Follow the included instructions for the mounting steps, the AMD platform uses the motherboard’s original backplate.

For a system with a visible side panel, the black dual-tower design and ARGB fans offer a coordinated look while the digital screen sits on the top cover. Buyers often praise the cooler’s appearance and cooling performance, while opinions on the display itself are mixed. That makes the screen and lighting a visual feature to weigh alongside the cooler’s socket support and airflow-focused design.

## Before you decide
**Does the fan speed adjust automatically?** The fans use PWM temperature control, allowing the motherboard to adjust their speed in response to temperature rather than relying on a single fixed speed.

**Can the ARGB lighting be changed?** Yes. The fans’ ARGB lighting can be adjusted using compatible motherboard lighting software, with a 5V 3-pin connection.

**What is needed for AMD mounting?** AMD installation uses the motherboard’s original backplate, together with the matching mounting clips and the cooler’s installation instructions.

## Should you buy it?
Choose the Peerless Assassin 120 Digital ARGB Black if your build needs a dual-tower air cooler for one of its supported sockets and you want copper heat-transfer components, two PWM fans and configurable ARGB in the same unit. Its digital-screen top cover and black finish add a distinctive touch to a desktop build, while the listed dimensions help you plan the cooler’s placement.
