TG 2-Pack Weatherproof Outdoor Outlet Covers, 1-Gang, Clear Cover
Product description
The extra-duty enclosure helps protect outdoor outlets from rain, mud, dirt and snow while allowing cords to pass through during use. This TG two-pack is designed for decorator/GFCI-style outlets and mounts vertically. Its clear cover and two individual cord openings make it practical for outdoor connections that need protection without unplugging equipment.
Key takeaways
Each 1-gang enclosure is made from polycarbonate thermoplastic and is intended for wet locations. The housing is black with a clear cover, and a locking tab at the bottom helps keep it closed. Two separate openings let you route electrical cords individually, making the covers useful where outdoor equipment needs to stay connected.
The enclosure is sized at H 15.5 cm x W 8.6 cm x D 7.1 cm. It is NEMA 3R rated, UL listed and stated to meet NEC section 406.9(B)(1). Compared with a basic indoor outlet plate, this in-use cover is intended to shield an outdoor connection from the elements while cords are plugged in. The package contains two covers and mounting screws, receptacles are sold separately.
Practical tips
Mount the enclosure vertically using the included mounting screws, and pair it with a decorator/GFCI-style receptacle. The cover is compatible with TG USB outlets, guide light outlets, standard decorator outlets or switches, and select other brands. Confirm the outlet style matches the enclosure before installation. Its two cord openings allow individual cords to pass through, while the locking tab provides a way to secure the housing after use.
The stated dimensions can help with planning placement around an outdoor receptacle. For a neat installation, position the enclosure so the cover can open and the cord openings remain accessible. The product includes a three-year warranty.
Who it’s for
This two-pack suits homeowners or property managers setting up weather protection for compatible outdoor outlets in locations exposed to rain, dirt, mud or snow. It can also help protect outlet connections from pets and other animals. Use it where an appliance or other electrical equipment needs to remain plugged in outdoors, rather than relying on a cover intended only for a connection that is not in use.
It makes sense if you need covers for more than one outlet, or want a spare for another compatible location. The clear cover and individual cord openings offer a practical format for keeping outdoor connections covered while they are being used.
