SOLDAY Mermaid and Unicorn Paint Kit, 4 figures

A rainy afternoon or a small craft-party table is a natural place for this paint-your-own set. It gives kids mermaids and unicorns to decorate, rather than another finished toy to take out of the box.

There are two mermaid figures, two unicorn figures and four hairstyles, with paint, brushes and palettes included. The listed age is 3+.

If you prioritise an activity that can lead into pretend play, the mix of figures has room for both making and storytelling, if you prefer a ready-to-play toy with no setup or cleanup, a paint kit is a different kind of purchase.

Getting the most from it

Set the figures, paints and palettes out on a protected surface before starting. A child can choose a colour for a mermaid, give a unicorn a contrasting look, then use the finished figures to act out a shared underwater or fantasy story. The instructions are included, so there is guidance for getting started, while adults can also help keep the painting session manageable for younger children.

The mermaids have articulation at the shoulders and waist, which adds posing options once the painting is done. That makes the set more than a one-sitting craft if the child enjoys returning to the figures for imaginative play. The four hairstyles also make it possible to vary the look across the figures, though the listing does not explain how the hairstyles attach or whether they are interchangeable between characters.

Why it’s worth it

The main appeal is having the craft materials and several figures together, rather than buying a plain painting activity with no play pieces to keep afterwards. It could work for a birthday craft table or a quiet at-home project, especially when children like both colouring and making up characters. The supplied fast-drying acrylic paints are described as washable and easy to clean, still, washable paint can make a mess, so a covered work area and a little cleanup time are sensible.

Te conviene si you want a guided creative activity that can carry on as pretend play afterwards. No te compensa si the child mainly wants a polished, ready-to-use figure, or if you need details about paint ingredients, figure dimensions or the exact hairstyle attachment before buying. Based on the listed details, those specifics are not provided, so they are worth considering if they affect your choice.

Key features

The set includes two mermaids, two unicorns, four hairstyles, 18 colour paints, one gold paint, four paint brushes and two palettes. White plastic figures are described as solid and seamless, and the mermaids have movable shoulders and waists. Instructions are included. The product is presented for children aged 3+ and for use at home, school or parties.

The number of paints gives children several colours to work with, but the listing does not specify figure size or how much paint is in each pot. It also does not say whether the paints are suitable for clothing or other surfaces, so keep the activity focused on the figures and protect the table and clothes.

When to choose it

Choose this kit when the goal is a hands-on activity with a story-play follow-up: for example, children can paint the mermaids and unicorns at a party, then use the figures to invent what happens next. It is a better fit for families who are comfortable setting up and supervising a craft than for anyone looking for a no-mess toy. Check that the included age guidance and the unspecified figure and paint details suit the child and the way you plan to use the set.
