## Description

The braided 25 ft design gives you room to connect a DisplayPort-equipped computer to a monitor without placing the devices right beside each other. This Silkland DP 2.1 cable supports HDR, HDCP and DSC 1.2a, bringing together a long cable run and features suited to modern display setups.

Its male-to-male DisplayPort connectors make it a direct link between a compatible graphics card and monitor. Backward compatibility with earlier DisplayPort versions also makes it useful when connecting equipment from different generations.

## What stands out

A long cable can make a desk or multi-screen layout easier to arrange, especially when the computer is positioned away from the display. The round, grey cable has a double-braided nylon outer layer, while its buckle-free, grooved connector design is intended to make plugging in and unplugging straightforward. Tinned copper conductors and gold-plated connectors are part of the cable’s construction.

For gaming and other display-focused setups, support for Dynamic HDR and DSC 1.2a adds relevant display features, while HDCP supports protected content. The cable also supports lossless 7.1 audio and 3D stereo imaging, so it can carry both picture and sound over a single DisplayPort connection.

## Highlights

This cable connects DisplayPort-enabled computers and graphics cards directly to monitors. The manufacturer lists compatibility with NVIDIA GeForce and AMD Radeon graphics cards, and says it works with monitors equipped with a DisplayPort interface. G-Sync and FreeSync support is useful for compatible gaming displays and systems. Compatibility features depend on the connected equipment and its DisplayPort capabilities.

The cable is compliant with DisplayPort 2.1 specifications and backward compatible with DisplayPort 2.0, 1.4, 1.3, 1.2, 1.2a, 1.1 and 1.0. That makes it a practical choice for connecting a newer DP-equipped computer to an existing monitor, without requiring both devices to use the same DisplayPort generation. Buyers often praise its display performance and smooth monitor operation, feedback is mixed on value and durability.

## Best use cases

Use the 25 ft length when your computer and monitor need more separation, such as a gaming desk with the tower positioned beside or beneath the workspace, or a multi-monitor arrangement. Its braided construction and grooved connectors suit regular connections where access to the plug matters. For a new setup, match the cable to devices with DisplayPort ports and check that both the graphics card and monitor support the display features you plan to use.

## Questions before you buy

**What devices does this cable connect?** It connects a DisplayPort-enabled computer or graphics card to a monitor with a DisplayPort interface, using male-to-male connectors.

**Can it work with earlier DisplayPort equipment?** Yes. It is backward compatible with DisplayPort versions 2.0, 1.4, 1.3, 1.2, 1.2a, 1.1 and 1.0.

**Does it support gaming display features?** The cable supports G-Sync and FreeSync. The connected graphics card and monitor must also support the feature for it to be available in your setup.

## Final verdict

For a gaming or multi-screen workspace that needs a longer DisplayPort connection, the Silkland S1328 combines a 25 ft reach with a braided nylon exterior, backward compatibility and support for HDR, HDCP and DSC 1.2a. It’s a useful fit when flexible placement and a direct computer-to-monitor connection are the priorities.
