It is designed for straightforward plug-and-play setup, with no software installation required. Need a simple way to carry files or keep an extra copy? This compact external HDD is aimed at everyday storage, not a feature-heavy backup system. ## Tech summary - Capacity: 2TB, actual available capacity may vary. - Connectivity: USB 3.0, with USB 2.0 compatibility listed by the manufacturer. - Setup: Connect it to a computer for automatic recognition, drag-and-drop file handling is described. - Included: 18-inch USB 3.0 cable. - Dimensions: 11.68 x 8 x 1.47 cm. - Weight: 190 g. - Colour: Black. The capacity makes it useful for keeping documents, photos and other files together, or moving a collection between locations. It is a hard disk drive, rather than a flash drive, and is described as portable and compact. That distinction matters if you want a dedicated drive for computer files, someone choosing a storage device for a different workflow may prefer a smaller flash drive or a more specialized backup setup. ## Compatibility Seagate lists Windows and Mac computers, and the product title also names PlayStation and Xbox. The detailed console compatibility information specifically identifies Sony PlayStation 4, so support for a particular console or computer should not be assumed from the broad product title alone. The drive uses USB, and the manufacturer states that it works with USB 3.0 and USB 2.0 connections. Buyer feedback is positive about ease of setup, storage space and compact size, while compatibility experiences are mixed. Some buyers also raise concerns about product quality. These reports are useful context, but they do not establish whether this drive will be recognized by every device or setup. ## Usage tips Connect the drive to a computer using the supplied cable, then use drag-and-drop to move files. It can suit a practical routine such as keeping a separate copy of important documents or transferring media between compatible devices. For files that matter, an external drive is best treated as one part of a backup plan rather than the only copy, this product information does not describe automated backup software. It suits you if you want a portable 2TB drive with simple computer setup and USB connectivity. It may not suit you if you need confirmed compatibility with a specific device that is not explicitly listed, or expect more than basic external storage. If you prioritize a particular console or computer, confirm its requirements before relying on this drive. ## Practical questions **Does it need software to get started?** The product information says it is recognized automatically when connected to a computer, with no software required. **What cable comes with it?** An 18-inch USB 3.0 cable is listed as included. **Is the full 2TB available for files?** The listing notes that actual capacity may vary, so the usable space may not match the stated capacity exactly. ## When it makes sense Choose this Seagate when you want a straightforward way to add portable storage for a compatible computer and are comfortable managing files yourself. Its main appeal is the combination of 2TB capacity, included cable and simple connection process. For a device-specific setup, especially a console, the broad compatibility wording is less useful than confirmation for that exact model, the detailed listing names PS4 but does not specify individual Xbox models. ## Images ![Seagate STGX2000400 Portable 2TB External Hard Drive, USB 3.0 — 1](https://www.ofertitastop.com/i/4sBPrk6XnG1mcEsZivXGRBCUGrZiAl4Ep188pBxCgDJihum0n8BTZyyx93CBuJ2SRgXJuMEbiWNKlP76qZKWyMfCVdke7_GXYW_IXmBKnOZ7N1BFGChpj7b2LA.jpg) ![Seagate STGX2000400 Portable 2TB External Hard Drive, USB 3.0 — 2](https://www.ofertitastop.com/i/0EdKOQ-BS2IZ42L6GltiVCnh_der-9KhqZjpCx0My_DszRAZ_F8Khf8uIDcN2WKdQw-7KUqLHWuvekXQPWUS2X_BeTY3YQ0tG1NL00uCztA4kviL6Vp0w6829Q.jpg) ![Seagate STGX2000400 Portable 2TB External Hard Drive, USB 3.0 — 3](https://www.ofertitastop.com/i/UN3H8GkV0GpSsb5WRFNyLugXzGmdYuT81vbiuokmYzpaBvJrRF9x_OOY2WSoYschJj__4GQK_ugDqcACClp1G1z41neIgHM4KXz6_PvI2ENdJ6op1Jbwtp5pfg.jpg) ![Seagate STGX2000400 Portable 2TB External Hard Drive, USB 3.0 — 4](https://www.ofertitastop.com/i/bKki0QlxVwNmyaQbtg6tL7u4oY_fY5rHokNWmefCImGKXUQZ38qV-Yrc6MuAY0ndwpD7oWB8Kx5np1Rfk62QhHRkp1Ezg485P6u0oCgB7EEUaf4c7GKDX0XKFg.jpg) ![Seagate STGX2000400 Portable 2TB External Hard Drive, USB 3.0 — 5](https://www.ofertitastop.com/i/z8hF5-19v4Tr3NBcNnz4o8MOBi-M2ma3MT08snpQ2C-2GwNA1bl8nlNsAtmh8dAtHyqWUTR5SfAkc-hX2FYhQwCbzu2qRf76UMjXtfKDOoTsb7j_UQQPyYiPOg.jpg)
