## Description

For an on-camera interview, a wearable lavalier microphone keeps the mic close to the speaker while leaving their hands free. The RØDE RODELink LAV captures sound from all directions, making placement more forgiving when attaching it to clothing for filming, presenting or other recorded work.

Its locking TRS connector is designed for the RODELink wireless microphone range and most recorders with a 3.5 mm locking microphone input, giving it a clear role in compatible recording setups.

## Best use cases

This miniature microphone is made for wearable recording where a discreet setup matters. Use it to capture a presenter or interview subject while they move naturally, rather than asking them to hold a microphone. Its omnidirectional pickup takes in sound from all directions, so positioning it on the wearer is more forgiving than with a mic that needs to be aimed directly at the speaker.

The connection is an important part of choosing this lavalier: it has a locking TRS connector and is intended for the RODELink range, as well as most recorders that have a 3.5 mm locking microphone input. It is also listed as compatible with cameras. For a shoot, attach the microphone to clothing with the supplied mounting clip, then connect it to compatible recording equipment for hands-free capture.

## Benefits

The supplied foam pop shield helps minimize wind noise and vocal plosives, useful when recording speech on location. A durable mounting clip includes cable management to help keep the setup organized during rigging. The cable is reinforced with Kevlar and designed for the demands of shoots, supporting repeated use in filming workflows.

Compared with a handheld microphone, a wearable lavalier leaves the speaker’s hands free and keeps the mic in place as they talk. Buyer feedback on the product is generally positive, though opinions on sound quality are mixed. The documented features that shape this model’s appeal are its compact omnidirectional capsule, locking connection and practical mounting accessories.
