## Description

The 8,500 mm² solar panel gives the ROCAM CR1030 another way to recharge its 12,000mAh battery, alongside hand-crank and USB-C power. With AM, FM and NOAA weather bands, it brings radio listening and weather updates together in one portable unit for camping and emergency preparedness.

A 5W flashlight, reading lamp and 120dB SOS alarm add practical lighting and signalling functions when you need more than a radio. Its rechargeable battery and multiple power options make it a flexible addition to an emergency kit or outdoor gear.

## Why it’s worth it

This radio combines three useful functions in a single device: access to AM/FM/NOAA broadcasts, lighting and an SOS alarm. The NOAA band is useful for receiving weather information, while the flashlight and reading lamp provide different lighting options for outdoor use or a power outage. When a wall outlet is not convenient, the solar panel and hand crank offer alternative ways to replenish power, USB-C and AAA batteries are also listed among its power options.

Compared with a basic portable radio that focuses on listening alone, the CR1030 also offers a light and an alarm for situations where visibility and signalling matter. Picture setting up at a campsite after dark: the reading lamp can illuminate a nearby task, and the radio remains available for broadcasts and updates.

## What to know

The ROCAM CR1030 supports AM, FM and NOAA weather bands and has a Hi-Fi speaker. Its 12,000mAh rechargeable battery is paired with an 8,500 mm² solar panel, hand-crank charging and USB-C connectivity. The radio also lists AAA batteries as a power source, giving you several approaches to keeping it ready for use.

For lighting, it has a 5W flashlight and a separate reading lamp. The 120dB SOS alarm adds an audible signalling feature, while the waterproof rating supports use in outdoor settings. A hand strap, USB cable, buckle and owner’s manual are included, making it easier to carry and set up as part of a camping or emergency kit.

## Usage tips

Choose the power option that suits the situation: USB-C for a convenient recharge, solar charging when sunlight is available, or the hand crank when you need a manual option. Keeping the radio with your emergency supplies makes its broadcasts, light and alarm easier to access during a power interruption. On a camping trip, it can serve as a shared source of weather updates and light without packing a separate reading lamp and emergency signal device.

Use the AM/FM bands for radio listening and the NOAA band for weather broadcasts. The flashlight is suited to directing light ahead, while the reading lamp provides a separate source for nearby tasks. These distinct functions make it straightforward to choose the feature needed at the time.

## Buying verdict

The ROCAM CR1030 is suited to shoppers looking for an emergency or camping radio that does more than receive broadcasts. Its 12,000mAh battery, solar panel, hand crank and USB-C power options support flexible use, while NOAA reception, two lighting features and a 120dB SOS alarm add practical value for outdoor trips and household preparedness.
