Rngeo 3-in-1 Soil Tester, 2-Pack for pH, Light and Moisture

Choosing when to water, where to place a plant and how to assess its soil calls for different checks. This Rngeo soil tester brings moisture, light and pH readings together in one compact tool.

The set includes two testers, one black and one green, so you can keep them in different areas of your garden or home.

Select the reading you need, insert the probe into the soil and use the indicator dashboard to help guide everyday plant care.

Why it’s worth it

A quick soil check can make plant care more informed than relying on the surface alone. The moisture setting helps you judge whether soil is dry, moist or wet before watering, while the light setting gives an indication of the conditions around a plant. The pH setting adds another useful check when you’re tending garden beds, lawns or potted plants.

Having two testers in different colours makes it easy to keep one near houseplants and another with outdoor gardening supplies, or to check plants in separate areas. The meters are lightweight and compact, and they require no battery, so they’re ready to use without charging or replacing cells.

Buyers often describe the product as matching its description and a worthwhile purchase, while feedback about functionality is mixed. Its three measurement modes offer a practical way to check several soil and growing conditions with the same tool.

Key features

The three settings measure soil moisture, pH and sunlight level. Moisture is shown on a 1–10 scale, from dry through moist to wet, the light range is 0–2000, from low light to strong light, and the pH range is 3.5–8. These readings can help you make more informed choices about watering, plant placement and soil care.

To take a reading, switch to the relevant setting and insert the probe about 2–4 inches into the soil. Read the indicator after several minutes. The double-needle detection design and clear dashboard make the pointer reading straightforward to view. If the soil is too dry to test, water it before checking.

Tips for day-to-day use

Use the moisture setting when deciding whether a plant needs water, and check the light setting to get an indication of the sunlight reaching its growing area. For soil pH checks, select the pH position before inserting the probe. Wipe the probe after each use to keep it clean for the next reading.

The tester is intended for soil, so use it in garden beds, lawns, farms and pots rather than in water or other liquids. Its indoor and outdoor applications make it useful for checking houseplants as well as larger potted plants and garden areas.

What to clarify

What can the tester measure? It checks soil moisture, soil pH and sunlight level. Select the corresponding position to view the reading on the indicator.

How do I take a reading? Switch to the setting you need, insert the probe about 2–4 inches into the soil and wait several minutes before reading the pointer. Wipe the probe after use.

Can I use it to test water? No. It is designed to test soil, not water or other liquids.

Final verdict

For plant owners who want a straightforward way to check more than soil moisture, this two-piece set combines three useful readings in compact, battery-free meters. Keep one close to indoor plants and the other with outdoor gardening tools to support routine checks across different growing areas.
