## Tips for day-to-day use
Install two compatible DeWalt 20V MAX packs to operate the saw as a 40V system. For best runtime and cutting power, the manufacturer recommends packs rated at 4.0Ah or higher, 2.0Ah packs are not recommended. Check the chain oil reservoir before a cutting session, and use the tool-free tensioning knob to adjust chain tightness when needed. The automatic oiler keeps the chain lubricated during use, while the chain brake and trigger safety lock provide practical safety controls as you work.

The 16-inch bar and stated maximum cut diameter of 16 inches suit tasks such as preparing firewood, cutting storm-fallen wood and maintaining a property. Dual-speed control gives you a way to adapt the saw’s pace, and the brushless motor provides battery-powered cutting without gas fumes. Buyers speak positively about cutting performance, handling and ease of setup, while opinions on battery runtime and noise vary. Actual runtime depends on the batteries used and the work being done.

## In the box
The package includes the 40V brushless chainsaw, a 16-inch guide bar with bar sheath cover, two 16-inch chains and a user manual with quick-start guide. The battery and charger are not included, so plan to use compatible packs and a charger you already have or obtain them separately. Each chain has a 3/8-inch LP pitch, .043-inch gauge and 56 drive links.

## When it makes sense
Choose this model when you want a 16-inch saw for property cleanup and firewood, and already use compatible DeWalt 20V MAX batteries. Its two-pack 40V setup, automatic oiling and tool-free tension adjustment bring key cutting and maintenance functions together in one battery-powered tool. Compared with choosing a petrol-powered saw, this option avoids gas fumes and uses the compatible battery platform instead. It makes sense if your usual jobs include cutting logs and clearing storm debris, and you want a brushless chainsaw with a safety brake and straightforward chain adjustment.
