The oil penetrates the wood and helps bring out its natural texture. A thin coat applied with a brush forms a protective film as it cures at room temperature. ## Everyday use Use it on wood surfaces indoors or outdoors, including floors, garden furniture, cutting boards and other furniture. Its food-grade formulation is intended for wooden items that come into contact with food, such as chopping boards and tableware, it is not for ingestion. For a practical project, brush on a thin layer and let it warm and cure at room temperature. The finish develops over time, making the oil suitable for planned wood care as well as furniture refinishing. This is a natural-oil approach to wood finishing: the emphasis is on penetrating the surface and highlighting the grain, rather than choosing a finish mainly to add colour. The oil is described as waterproof and as helping protect wood from outdoor weather and UV exposure. That makes it a useful choice for pieces that need a protective finish while retaining the look of the wood. ## Benefits With no additives, the pure tung oil formulation provides a straightforward way to finish a range of wood types. Its penetrating action nourishes the wood, while the resulting film helps protect the surface. The stated satin finish offers a lower-sheen look than a glossy finish, and the oil is intended to brighten the wood’s natural texture. Buyers often highlight the ease of applying the oil and the way it brings depth and a refreshed appearance to wood. Some also appreciate its drying and finishing qualities. Feedback on the odour is mixed, so scent impressions vary. ## Spec sheet - Brand: OLASIR - Model: TO6CA - Type: Pure tung oil for wood finishing - Size: 64 fluid ounces (1.89 l) - Material: Tung oil - Finish: Satin - Colour: Brown - Surface: Wood, for indoor and outdoor use - Dimensions: 23 x 14.5 x 8 centimetres - Application: Brush on a thin layer, cure at room temperature ## Practical questions **Can it be used on a cutting board?** Yes.
