NHL Take-Along Hockey Play Set

The fold-down front panel turns the NHL Take Along Arena’s carry case into a hockey game, so setup and play are built around one portable format.

It’s designed for play away from a fixed game table, with an arena structure, goal net and side bench included.

Three figures and a mix of hockey-themed accessories give kids pieces to arrange and use during play. Number stickers let them customize the players’ numbers.

Technical details

The set includes three figures, an arena structure, a goal net, a side bench and railings. The accessory list also includes a First Aid kit, play strategies, jersey numbers, hockey sticks, pucks and dumbbells, along with other hockey accessories. The description does not specify dimensions or how the pieces are organized when the case is folded, so it’s difficult to judge how much storage space it needs.

The main draw is the change from closed case to play scene: fold down the front panel and the arena is ready to use. That’s a different approach from buying separate hockey figures and equipment, which may offer more flexibility but does not provide this set’s built-in arena structure.

Getting the most from it

The set is centred on imaginative, hands-on hockey play rather than a detailed account of rules or a full-sized game. A child could open the case on a coffee table, position the figures around the goal and bench, then use the sticks and pucks to act out a short match. The strategy materials and jersey-number stickers add ways to personalise the scene.

There are several loose accessories, so play is likely to be easier when there’s a clear surface to lay them out. The description doesn’t explain whether every piece fits inside the case for transport, so don’t assume the folded format also means tidy, self-contained storage.

Usage tips

Use the number stickers to give the players distinct jerseys, then set up the goal, bench and railings before starting a match. The First Aid kit and other accessories can help extend the play beyond scoring goals. When taking it along, keep the smaller pieces together separately unless you know how they fit in the folded case.

It may suit you if you want a hockey-themed activity with an arena scene and a carry-along design. It won’t suit you if you’re looking for a large play surface, a rules-led game or a set with specified dimensions for checking storage space. The description gives no age guidance, either, so the intended age range is not clear from the available details.

Before you buy

Choose this set if the appeal is a hockey play scene that folds into a carry-along case, with figures and accessories for imaginative matches. If a precise footprint, confirmed in-case storage or a more substantial game format matters more, the missing dimensions and storage details are worth weighing before choosing it. The product description presents it as a ready-to-open play setup, according to the manufacturer, but gives limited information about how compact it is once packed.
