NEEWER NR02 Permanent Outdoor String Lights, 144 ft, 90 LEDs, App Control

For homeowners who want outdoor lighting they can adapt for holidays and everyday evenings, the NEEWER NR02 combines a 144 ft run with app-controlled colour and scene options. Its permanent eaves-lighting format also suits patios, porches, decks and other outdoor gathering spots.

The set uses six 24 ft strings with 90 LED lights in total. Each light combines RGB colour with cool- and warm-white LEDs, so the display can shift from colourful decoration to white ambient lighting.

Control the lights through the NEEWER Home App over Bluetooth, use the control box to adjust brightness and modes, or connect compatible Alexa and Google Assistant devices for voice control. The app requires a 2.4 GHz Wi-Fi router or mobile hotspot, 5 GHz networks are not supported.

The essentials

With more than 50 scenes across Lifestyle, Holiday, Mood and Nature categories, the NR02 makes it easy to change the look for a celebration or a quieter evening without replacing the lighting. Music Sync adds pulsing effects timed to music, while Creative DIY mode lets you set the colour of each individual LED. The NEEWER Smart AI Lighting Engine can also generate effects from voice, text or image prompts, giving you another way to shape a display around an event or preferred style.

Each 24 ft string contains 15 lights, and each light is rated at 50 lm. Dimming, colour-changing effects and adjustable white lighting give the display more range than a basic single-colour string. For example, a patio can use a relaxed white setting for dinner, then switch to a holiday scene for a gathering. The listed white colour temperature range is 2700K–6500K.

Usage tips

The lights are designed for outdoor use on eaves and can also decorate a gazebo, pergola, deck, fence, porch, balcony, windows or garden-party area. The strings and control box are rated IP65, while the power adapter is rated IP44. For a planned layout, map the eaves or outdoor area first and consider where each string and the control box will sit before arranging the display.

The product is specified for operating temperatures from -4°F to 122°F (-20°C to 50°C), with resistance to rain, sun and snow. Keep the different water-resistance ratings in mind when positioning the power adapter as part of an outdoor setup.

Tips for day-to-day use

Use the app when you want to browse scenes or create a more personalized arrangement, the control box provides a direct way to switch modes and adjust brightness. Voice control offers another convenient option when paired with a compatible Alexa or Google Assistant device. Bluetooth connects the lights with the NEEWER Home App, and the stated 2.4 GHz network requirement applies to the supported smart-device setup.

For a simple daily routine, choose a white setting for a welcoming outdoor area, then save more colourful effects for holidays or gatherings. Music Sync can add movement for an event, while individual LED colour control is useful when you want a custom pattern rather than a preset scene. These options make the NR02 a more flexible choice than a straightforward decorative string with fixed lighting effects.

Is it worth it?

The NEEWER NR02 is well suited to shoppers planning a long outdoor lighting display that can serve both seasonal decorating and regular use. Its 144 ft total length, 90 colour-changing LEDs, app and voice-control options, and selection of scenes bring practical variety to eaves, patios and garden spaces. Choose it when you want one permanent outdoor setup that can move from subtle white illumination to custom, music-responsive colour effects.
