Mini projector HY300Pro

A big-screen setup can be awkward in a bedroom or small apartment, especially when there is little room between the projector and the wall. The HY300Pro is designed for that kind of casual viewing: its compact body, 0.9:1 throw ratio and 180° rotating stand offer flexible placement, including ceiling-facing projection. Android 14 provides access to compatible entertainment apps, while HDMI, USB and wireless connections give you other ways to bring content to the screen. The main trade-off is picture performance: native resolution is 720p, and the 200 ANSI brightness is best suited to a dark or dim room.

Key points

The 4K wording needs a closer look. This projector supports compatible 4K video playback, but its native resolution is 720p, so it does not project a native 4K image. That distinction matters if you are comparing it with a higher-resolution projector or expect fine detail to match a 4K television. For everyday films and shows in a bedroom, the stated resolution may be a more useful guide to what the projected picture can deliver.

WiFi 6 supports wireless mirroring from compatible phones, and Bluetooth 5.4 can connect compatible speakers or headphones. HDMI and USB add wired options for devices such as laptops and TV sticks, the listing also names game consoles. Auto vertical keystone helps correct the image when the projector points up or down, but manual focus is still part of getting a sharp picture. Keep in mind that 200 ANSI brightness favours controlled lighting rather than daytime viewing in a bright room.

Best use cases

This mini projector makes most sense for flexible, occasional viewing where a permanent TV setup is inconvenient. Picture a bedside table aimed at a blank wall for a film, or a small room where you rotate the stand to project towards the ceiling. The 0.9:1 throw ratio is intended to produce a larger image from a shorter distance, which can help when there is not much space to position the unit.

It suits you if you want a portable projector with built-in Android 14 and several connection choices for a bedroom, apartment or casual movie night. It won't suit you if your priority is native 4K detail or a bright picture in a well-lit space. A more demanding home-cinema setup calls for a projector chosen around higher native resolution and brightness, rather than portability and flexible positioning.

Tips for day-to-day use

For a clearer picture, start in a darkened room and aim at a suitable wall or projection surface. Use the automatic vertical keystone when the unit is tilted up or down, then adjust the manual focus to sharpen the image. The rotating stand gives you options for wall or ceiling viewing, though the final angle still depends on where you can place the projector.

For streaming, use compatible apps through Android 14 or connect a source through HDMI or USB. Wireless phone mirroring depends on device compatibility, and Bluetooth audio also requires a compatible speaker or headphones. If you plan to use a TV stick, laptop or console, decide which connection suits your setup rather than assuming every device will work wirelessly.

Buying questions

Is the image native 4K? No. The listed native resolution is 720p, 4K refers to support for compatible video playback.

Can it connect to a phone? The listing describes wireless mirroring for compatible phones over WiFi 6. Compatibility may depend on the phone.

Can I watch with the lights on? The stated brightness is 200 ANSI, and the product information recommends a dark or dim room for the best picture quality and contrast.

Is it worth it?

The HY300Pro is worth considering when a compact projector, short-distance placement and flexible wall-or-ceiling positioning matter more than sharp 4K projection or use in a bright room. Its Android 14, wireless options and HDMI/USB connections cover several casual viewing setups, without requiring one specific source device. Choose it for a small-space movie setup where you can control the lighting, look elsewhere if high native resolution or brighter-room viewing is central to your decision.
