## Description

For a home-office desk used for reading, drawing, drafting or detailed craft work, adjustable light can make it easier to direct illumination where the task is. The Micomlan FDDL03 combines three movable light bars with a clamp-on design, so you can shape the light around your work without setting a lamp base on the desktop.

Its asymmetric main light is angled away from the screen, while the side bars can point down for focused work or up for ambient lighting.

## Tips for day-to-day use

Position the clamp on the edge of your desk, then use the seven joints and rotating light bars to set the angle. Turn the side bars outward to spread light across a larger work area, or angle one down to help reduce shadows while drawing, painting, sewing or working on a small project. The base rotates 360° to help redirect the lamp without moving the clamp.

For screen-based work, the 45° angled-away main light is designed to illuminate the desk and keyboard rather than shine directly onto the display. The side lights operate separately from the main light, giving you the choice of task lighting, ambient light or both. Brightness and colour temperature are adjusted together using the touch panel, tap to move through the settings or press and hold for stepless adjustment. The built-in sensor can also adjust brightness in response to surrounding light, and the memory function restores the last setting.

## What you’ll notice day to day

Unlike a fixed-position desk lamp, the three-bar layout lets you change the spread and direction of the light as your activity changes. Broad positioning can suit a larger desk or a setup with multiple monitors, angling the bars down concentrates light for close-up tasks. The clamp also keeps the lamp’s base off the work surface and occupies less than 4 square inches of desktop space.

The adjustable white-to-yellow colour range and brightness settings let you tailor the light to reading, studying or creative work. Buyers often praise the lighting quality, brightness and flexibility of the settings, including the ambient-light option. Feedback on durability and value is mixed, so those impressions vary between customers rather than indicating a guaranteed experience.

## Is it worth it?

It suits you if you want desk lighting that can shift between focused task work and a softer room glow, while leaving more of the desktop clear for tools, books or a keyboard. The clamp-on mount, repositionable light bars and touch-based dimming make the FDDL03 a practical fit for home-office tasks as well as drawing, painting, drafting and handcrafting.
