## Description

Water resistance responds to your stroke speed, bringing a dynamic feel to home rowing while letting you choose from six manually adjusted resistance levels. The MERACH MR-R28R1-US pairs that setup with a solid wood frame for a dedicated indoor workout space.

After a session, fold the rower through 180° for upright storage. Bottom wheels help with repositioning, making it easier to clear floor space between workouts.

The LCD monitor tracks distance, time, calories and stroke counts, while Bluetooth supports syncing workout data to a smartphone or tablet. Want a home rower that can be put away without taking over the room?

## Key takeaways

The water resistance system suits varied workout styles: resistance changes with stroke speed, and manual adjustment provides six levels. An adjustable foot strap helps keep your feet in position through each stroke, while the double-rail design supports a maximum user weight of 400 lb. The stated height compatibility is under 6'7".

The monitor gives you a quick way to follow core workout measures, including distance, time, calories and count. Bluetooth syncing and the MERACH app add a connected option for keeping workout data on a phone or tablet. Two AAA batteries for the monitor are included.

The frame is made of wood, and the machine folds for upright storage. The manufacturer describes the tank as leak-proof when stored upright. It arrives 98% pre-assembled, with assembly described as taking about 10 minutes. Buyers also commonly appreciate its appearance, compact folded form and straightforward assembly, opinions differ on how easy it is to move and on noise during use.

## Usage tips

Set the rower on a stable, level floor and adjust the foot straps before starting. Use the manual resistance adjustment to choose a level, then let your stroke pace shape the water resistance during the workout. The monitor can help you follow a specific measure such as distance or time, or review other listed metrics as you row.

For connected tracking, pair the monitor with a smartphone or tablet using Bluetooth and use the MERACH app. When you have finished, fold the machine upright to free up floor space, the bottom wheels are there to assist with moving it. Its foldable format is especially useful in a home workout area that serves more than one purpose.

## Who it’s for

This rower is suited to people who want water resistance at home, from those starting a rowing routine to more experienced users. Its speed-responsive resistance makes it possible to vary effort through your stroke, while the six manual settings provide another way to adjust the workout. The adjustable foot straps and double-rail construction support a more secure, guided rowing setup.

It also fits households looking for a substantial workout machine that can be stored upright between sessions. The wood frame gives it a furniture-like presence in a home space, while folding storage helps keep the rowing area flexible. A solid pick if you want app-connected tracking alongside the feel of water resistance.

## When it makes sense

Choose this format when indoor rowing, workout tracking and space-conscious storage all matter. For example, you can set it up for a focused distance or time session, monitor your metrics on the LCD, then fold it away to reclaim the room. Buyers’ positive comments about its appearance and assembly may also appeal if you want a home fitness machine that feels straightforward to bring into a shared living space.

Compared with a fixed rowing setup that stays out between workouts, the R28’s 180° folding design offers a practical storage option. Its combination of manually adjustable water resistance, Bluetooth data syncing and a solid wood frame makes it particularly relevant for home users who want a dedicated rowing session without permanently dedicating the same floor area.
