For brake-pad work that requires retracting caliper pistons, the MAYESAR SCTZQ-B brings a ratcheting press and interchangeable plates to the job. ## Compatibility & requirements
The tool is described for most cars and light trucks, and is intended for single, twin and quad piston calipers. Its adjustable stretch range accommodates different brake jobs, and the two plate sizes give you options for the contact area. Select a plate that sits squarely against the piston, then keep the tool level as you work, even pressure helps the piston retract smoothly. The hooks can be used to secure the caliper while changing pads.

Compared with a basic press that uses one contact plate, this set offers two plate sizes and a ratcheting handle. That combination is useful when you want a hand-operated tool with options for different caliper layouts. Buyer feedback often highlights the tool’s usefulness for brake work and appreciates the extra plates and hooks. Opinions are mixed on ease of ratcheting and durability, and some buyers report fit issues with their calipers, so plate fit is an important part of setting up the job.

## Tips for day-to-day use
For a brake-pad change in a home garage, position the selected plate against the piston and extend the tool until it sits securely. Use the handle and direction switch to apply controlled ratcheting pressure, keeping the press level to avoid sticking or uneven movement. The plate’s magnetic attachment is intended to make changing plates straightforward, and the hooks provide a way to keep the caliper secured as you work. Store the tool with your automotive equipment for maintenance jobs where piston compression is required.

## Final verdict
It suits you if you want a dedicated caliper piston compressor for routine brake-pad work across single, twin or quad piston setups. The adjustable ratchet, two magnetic plate sizes and included hooks make it a versatile set for a garage toolbox, with the practical benefit of adapting the contact area to the caliper and keeping the caliper secured during the job.
