## Description

For creators who need wired headphones for monitoring, recording or mixing, the MAONO MH601 brings a closed-back, over-ear design to the studio and home workspace.

Its 50 mm dynamic drivers deliver sound for listening to recordings and monitoring instruments, while the cushioned ear pads help reduce background noise.

Need to switch between a full-ear fit and single-ear monitoring? The swivelling earcups make that adjustment practical during a recording or mixing session.

## Technical overview

The MH601 combines a wired connection with a detachable coiled cable, giving you a practical setup for studio equipment and everyday listening. Its foldable design also makes it easier to pack alongside other audio gear.

- Type: Closed-back, over-ear studio monitor headphones
- Drivers: 50 mm dynamic drivers
- Impedance: 32 ohms
- Connectivity: Wired, with 3.5 mm and 6.35 mm jack options
- Cable: Detachable 9.8 ft coiled cable
- Earcups: Swivel 90° in both directions

The closed-back construction and soft ear pads help create a more focused listening space for tracking vocals, practising guitar or checking a podcast recording. The swivelling cups support single-ear monitoring when you want to keep one ear free while working. For listeners choosing between compact everyday earbuds and studio-style headphones, the MH601’s over-ear fit and jack options are geared towards longer monitoring sessions and connecting with audio equipment.

## Compatibility & requirements

Use the included cable’s 3.5 mm connection with compatible computers, laptops, tablets and phones, or its 6.35 mm connection with equipment such as guitar amplifiers, keyboards, microphones, audio interfaces, mixers and DJ gear. The interchangeable 6.35 mm audio jack offers another way to configure the connection for your setup. For newer iPhones without a 3.5 mm headphone jack, a Lightning-to-3.5 mm or USB-C-to-3.5 mm adapter is needed, that adapter is not included.

These are monitoring headphones, not a headset with a built-in microphone. For voice communication, pair them with a separate microphone. That distinction makes the MH601 a straightforward choice when listening and monitoring are the priority, rather than taking calls through the headphones.

## Getting the most from it

Connect the MH601 to the output on your recording or playback equipment, then use the swivelling earcups to suit the task. For example, while tracking a vocal, keep one ear available to hear the room and use the other to monitor playback. When editing a podcast or practising piano, the closed-back earcups and over-ear cushions help keep attention on the sound in your headphones.

The detachable coiled cable gives you room to work at a desk or beside audio equipment, and can be removed for storage. Fold the headphones when packing them with a microphone or other recording essentials. Because the connection is wired, there’s no Bluetooth pairing step between the headphones and your audio source.

## Is it worth it?

The MAONO MH601 is suited to people who want one pair of wired, over-ear headphones for recording, DJ work, instrument practice and general music listening. Its 50 mm drivers, closed-back design, swivelling earcups and 3.5 mm/6.35 mm connections support a range of monitoring setups without changing the headphones. Choose it when a flexible wired connection and the option of single-ear monitoring are useful parts of your regular audio workflow.
