## Description

A garage entrance may need bright light only when someone arrives, while a backyard can benefit from a softer glow through the evening. The LUTEC 4012 is a hardwired outdoor LED security light with adjustable dual heads and motion activation. Its 5,000K daylight-white output is designed to brighten outdoor areas such as garages, yards and porches. Choose from several lighting modes to suit the way you use the space.

## Why it makes sense

With 32W of power and 3,500 lumens of brightness, this fixture provides strong illumination for outdoor approaches and work areas. The dual-head design lets you adjust the direction of the light to cover the area that matters, rather than relying on a single fixed beam. Its black aluminium housing gives the fixture a modern look, while the wall-mounted format keeps it positioned for outdoor lighting.

Compared with a light that needs to be switched on by hand each time, motion activation can bring light to an entrance as someone approaches. For a garage or side yard, that means illumination when movement is detected, for a gathering outside, manual override provides a steady-light option. It makes sense if you want one fixture that can serve both security lighting and everyday outdoor use.

## Highlights

The motion sensor offers a 180-degree detection angle and can detect movement up to 69 ft away. You can set the light to stay at full brightness for 1, 3 or 10 minutes after activation. The available modes include testing, security, dusk to dawn and manual override. In dusk-to-dawn mode, the light stays on at low brightness at night and increases to full brightness when motion is detected.

The aluminium construction and adjustable heads make it easier to direct the light across a driveway, porch or backyard. Buyers often praise the strong illumination and modern appearance, and many describe the fixture as working well. Feedback on motion detection is mixed, so sensor performance is an area buyers experience differently. The product is intended for outdoor use and is hardwired to a junction box, manual override is operated using a standard wall switch.

## Getting the most from it

For a garage approach or backyard path, aim the adjustable heads towards the areas where visibility is most useful, then choose security mode for light triggered by movement after dark. Dusk-to-dawn mode is suited to an area where a low level of light overnight is helpful, with full brightness available when the sensor detects activity. The selectable hold time lets you tailor how long full brightness stays on after motion.

Testing mode is useful when setting up the sensor, while manual override offers steady lighting for an outdoor evening. Installation is a surface-mounted, hardwired setup, so connect it at a suitable outdoor junction box. The fixture is rated for 120 volts.

## Buying verdict

The LUTEC 4012 brings together bright 5,000K LED output, adjustable dual heads and several ways to control how the light responds. It suits homeowners looking to illuminate a garage entrance, porch or backyard with motion-activated lighting, while retaining dusk-to-dawn and manual options for different routines.
