LifeBasis Rechargeable Radon Detector with Audible and Visual Alarms

A one-time radon check can answer a specific question, while ongoing monitoring helps show how readings change over time. The LifeBasis rechargeable radon detector is designed for that longer view, combining hourly updates, visual and audible alerts, and stored history for indoor spaces such as a basement, bedroom, living room or office.

Its colour screen lets you check readings in Bq/m³ or pCi/L, and the built-in battery supports portable placement around the home.

What matters most

The semiconductor sensor measures radon across a range of 3.3 Bq/m³ to 37k Bq/m³ (0.09–1,000 pCi/L). A first reading appears after six hours, followed by hourly updates, giving you a way to follow changes rather than relying on a single snapshot. The display also presents records for the latest 24, 48, 72 and 96 hours, plus accumulated peak and average values, so you can view recent movement alongside longer-term readings.

For a quick visual check, the 2.0-inch TFT colour screen uses indicator bars that shift from green to orange to red as levels change. An audible buzzer adds another alert when a reading reaches the threshold you set. You can customize that threshold to reflect recommended action guidance in your area, and select either Bq/m³ or pCi/L as the measurement unit.

The monitor automatically records data points every six hours and can store up to 504 days of history across 10 recording sets. That makes it useful for observing seasonal changes, keeping a record of indoor readings, or following conditions in a property over time. Compared with an approach focused on a single test, this device is intended for continued tracking and review of trends.

Practical tips

Choose a steady indoor location that suits the area you want to monitor, such as a basement or bedroom, and leave the device there to build a useful record. Since the first reading takes six hours and subsequent readings update hourly, allow it time to establish the initial measurement before relying on the display for a current view.

The unit has a built-in rechargeable battery and charges through Type-C. A full charge takes 3.5 hours, and runtime is up to 45 days with the screen off. Screen sleep time can be customized, helping you tailor how the display behaves during routine monitoring. The unit measures 2.5D x 5.5W x 11.9H centimetres, making it practical to place on a surface in the room being tracked.

How to use it

Set the monitor in the indoor area you want to follow, then choose your preferred measurement unit and alert threshold on the colour screen. Once the initial reading is available, the hourly updates and colour-coded bars make changes straightforward to check. The buzzer provides an audible prompt when the level reaches your chosen limit, while the recent records and stored history help put an individual reading into context.

For longer-term tracking, review the saved readings periodically and use the peak and average values to understand both higher points and the broader pattern. The history can be useful when watching seasonal fluctuations, documenting readings for tenants, or keeping a record while assessing a property.

Should you buy it?

Choose this LifeBasis monitor if you want rechargeable indoor radon tracking with both immediate alerts and a substantial history of readings. Its screen presents readings in two measurement units, while customizable thresholds, hourly updates and up to 504 days of stored data support ongoing checks around the home. It is especially suited to people who want to follow how radon levels vary in a particular room over time, rather than depend on a single reading.
