Lamicall Waterproof Phone Pouch IPX8

Technical details

For beachgoers, boaters and anyone carrying a phone around water, this Lamicall pouch is designed to keep a compatible device enclosed while leaving the screen and camera accessible. The listing gives it an IPX8 rating and says it is intended to protect against water, snow, sand and dust. It comes as a two-pack, with a lanyard for carrying each pouch.

The pouch uses soft PVC and a clear window. Lamicall says the material allows touchscreen use, calls, Face ID and camera operation, but fingerprint recognition is not supported. Its listed compatibility covers phones up to 7 inches, including a range of iPhone and Samsung Galaxy models, fit still depends on the device’s size and shape.

Getting the most from it

The main convenience is keeping a phone close without holding it in your hand. Picture a day by the pool: the pouch hangs from its lanyard while you move between the water and your towel, and the clear front lets you check the screen without taking the phone out. It can also hold small items such as an ID card, cash or a passport, according to the product details.

Compared with a basic sleeve meant mainly to keep sand off a phone, this one is presented as a water-focused option with a locking clip and an IPX8 rating. That extra protection is relevant for water activities, but it does not make every phone function available underwater. The listing notes that screen sensitivity can drop under high water pressure, so operating the touchscreen in deeper water may be frustrating.

Usage tips

Press the locking switch firmly until it clicks, the instructions specifically call this out as part of securing the pouch. Keep the phone within the stated size limit, and use the lanyard when carrying it hands-free. If you want to take a photo in deep water, the product details suggest using the phone’s volume button because touch response may be reduced.

It suits you if you want a clear, wearable pouch for a phone during beach, pool or boating activities, and value having two pouches in the pack. It may not suit you if fingerprint unlocking is essential or if you need reliable touchscreen control at depth.

Three specific questions

Can you use the touchscreen through the pouch? The listing says the screen remains usable, though sensitivity may decrease under high water pressure.

Does it support fingerprint recognition? No. The product details exclude fingerprint recognition, while listing Face ID as supported.

What else can fit inside? The pouch is described as suitable for small items such as an ID card, credit cards, cash and a passport, as well as compatible phones.

Before you buy

The stated IPX8 rating and water-use positioning make this more relevant to swimming, kayaking or time on a boat than a simple dust or splash cover. Still, the listing’s depth claim is not a substitute for checking that your particular phone fits and that the clip is fully locked before use. Choose it when carrying a phone near water is the priority, look for a different style of case if you need fingerprint access or dependable touch control underwater.
