King Mattress Protector, Zippered

Quick overview

A spill, sweat or accident can reach the mattress before you have a chance to strip the bed, while a loose cover may shift as you sleep. This King mattress protector is designed to fully enclose the mattress on all six sides, with a zipper closure and a waterproof membrane for everyday barrier protection. Its stated fit is for standard King mattresses measuring 78 by 80 inches, with a depth of up to 15 inches. If you want coverage around the sides and underside as well as the sleeping surface, this encasement takes a more complete approach than a cover that sits only on top.

The product is also described as bed bug and dust mite proof, and as noiseless rather than crinkly. Those features may matter if you want a zipped barrier without the sound often associated with plastic-style protectors. The listing does not provide details about the membrane material or any testing, so treat those claims as product specifications rather than a guarantee of a particular result.

Best use cases

This design may suit a household looking to guard a mattress against spills and routine moisture, or to enclose it as a barrier against bed bugs and dust mites. For example, after changing the sheets, you can keep the protector in place beneath the fitted sheet and have the mattress covered on every side. It is also machine washable, which gives you a way to clean it after an accident rather than relying on spot-cleaning alone.

May interest you if you specifically want a zipped, six-sided encasement. A simpler top-only protector may be easier to put on, but it does not offer the same full enclosure described here. Keep in mind that the protector must fit the mattress dimensions and depth: a mattress deeper than 15 inches is outside the stated fit range.

Tips for day-to-day use

Before putting it on, remove the bedding and check the mattress size and depth against the stated 78 by 80 inch King fit and 15-inch maximum depth. Encasements cover the whole mattress, so installation involves working the cover around the mattress and closing the zipper, rather than just stretching a top panel over the corners. Once fitted, add your usual sheets over the protector.

For care, the listing says it can be machine washed and tumble dried on low. Follow those instructions when cleaning it. The zipper is central to the full enclosure, so close it fully after fitting and make sure the cover is seated without bunching. The product description does not give washing temperature or details on how often to wash it, so avoid assuming a more specific care routine.

Before you decide

Will it fit my King mattress? It is listed for standard King mattresses measuring 78 by 80 inches and up to 15 inches deep. Check both measurements before choosing it.

Does it cover the whole mattress? Yes. The design is described as a six-sided encasement with a zipper closure, rather than a protector that covers only the top.

How should I clean it? It is listed as machine washable and suitable for tumble drying on low. No further wash settings are provided.

Worth considering?

This is worth considering if you want a waterproof, zippered cover that encloses all six sides and the stated King size matches your mattress. Its practical appeal is the combination of full coverage and machine-washable care, rather than a basic surface-only layer. It may not be the best option if you need a protector for a deeper mattress, want a top-only cover that is simpler to fit, or need more detailed care and material information before buying. Given its design, the fit is the key detail to get right, a mismatch in depth can undermine the neat, secure enclosure you are choosing it for.
