Holy Stone camera drone HS360D

Key points

Its foldable design and weight under 249 g make the HS360D easier to pack for a trip or an afternoon outdoors than a bulkier camera drone. The compact format is a practical draw if portability matters.

The camera pairs a 1/3-inch CMOS sensor with a wide-angle lens offering an 85° field of view. It captures 3840×2160 photos, giving you room to frame landscapes, campsites or overhead views in 4K.

Holy Stone lists up to 80 minutes of total flight time with two batteries included. Keep in mind that this is the combined flight time, not a promise of one uninterrupted 80-minute flight. The product also lists a transmission range of up to 20,000 ft and GPS features including Follow Me, Waypoint Flight, Circle Fly and Auto Return to Home.

How to use it

The HS360D is controlled with a remote controller connected to your mobile device by wire. The product description says this connection reduces live-video latency compared with relying solely on Wi-Fi. That may help when you’re framing a shot from the controller’s FPV feed, though a long advertised transmission range doesn’t mean every location will provide the same conditions.

For a first outing, a simple approach is to use the GPS features and one-tap QuickShots for a short aerial clip, then try a planned route once you’re comfortable with the controls. Without having tested it, the listed beginner-friendly controls sound approachable, but they don’t remove the need to learn safe, responsible flying.

Practical tips

Think about where you’ll use it before choosing it for a particular trip. The foldable body and included case are geared towards carrying the drone between locations, while the wide-angle camera suits broad scenes better than a tightly framed subject. If you’re planning a video, check the composition on your phone before starting a pass, an 85° field of view can include more of the surroundings than you intended.

The Holy Stone HS Fly App is described as receiving feature and performance updates. Those updates may add or improve functions over time, but the listing doesn’t specify what changes are available now. The product description also doesn’t give details about weather resistance or obstacle avoidance, so don’t assume either feature when deciding where to fly.

Buying questions

Does it take 4K video? The listing describes a 4K camera and specifies 3840×2160 photos. It doesn’t provide a separate video resolution or recording format, so those details remain unclear.

What does the 80-minute figure mean? It’s the stated total flight time with two batteries included. It shouldn’t be read as 80 minutes on a single battery.

Is the 20,000 ft range guaranteed everywhere? It’s the advertised transmission range. The listing doesn’t explain how real-world surroundings affect that figure, so treat it as a stated maximum rather than an assurance for every flight.

For your situation

It may suit you if you want a foldable GPS drone for casual aerial photography, appreciate a wired phone connection to the controller, and expect to use the included batteries across multiple flights. It may not be the best choice if you need a confirmed video format, detailed information about flight conditions, or a single uninterrupted session matching the full 80-minute total. The under-249 g weight is a useful product detail, but it doesn’t by itself explain which rules apply where you fly, check local requirements before taking off.
