It suits a child who wants a private journal as well as one who needs a notebook for writing, drawing or colouring.

For a child choosing between a plain notebook for schoolwork and a journal with a more personal feel, this diary combines everyday writing space with a distinctive unicorn design.

## Why it’s worth it

This diary brings together features that make writing feel personal and easy to return to. The lock and two keys give kids a dedicated place for private entries, while the hard cover helps keep the journal together as it travels between home and a bag. The sewn binding is designed to help the pages stay in place, and the book can open flat for a more comfortable writing or drawing surface.

The sequin detail adds something to interact with beyond the pages, making the diary feel like a personal keepsake rather than a basic exercise book. A practical moment to use it might be after school: a child can write about the day, sketch a favourite moment or add a note, then close the diary and keep it in a backpack. Its lined format supports writing, while the pages can also be used for drawing and colouring.

**Does the diary include keys?** Yes. It comes with two keys for the lock, so there is a spare if one is misplaced.

**Are the pages lined?** Yes. The journal has 160 lined pages, equivalent to 80 sheets, for writing and note-taking.

**Can kids use it for drawing and colouring too?** Yes. It is described for journal writing and note-taking, and its pages can also be used for drawing and colouring.

## Should you buy it?

Choose this GINMLYDA diary for a child who would enjoy a unicorn journal with a tactile sequin cover and a lockable place for personal writing. The lined pages make it useful for regular entries and notes, while the compact hardcover design is suited to carrying along. It brings the practical role of a notebook together with the keepsake appeal of a first diary.
