## Description

For children who want a personal place to write, draw, and keep their thoughts, this butterfly diary combines a lockable cover with 160 lined pages. Its compact size and hardcover make it easy to carry for quiet writing time at home or on the go.

If the priority is a journal for words and notes, the ruled pages offer a clear writing guide, for open-ended sketching, a blank-page book may suit that need better. This diary also supports drawing and colouring between written entries.

## Everyday use
The ruled pages give young writers a guide for practising writing, making notes, or recording everyday thoughts. Pencils, pens, crayons, and markers can be used for writing and drawing, so the diary can move between journalling and creative activities. When it opens flat, both pages are accessible together for writing, doodling, or colouring.

At 7 x 5.3 inches, it is a handy size for a backpack and can travel between home and school. The butterfly pattern and lockable hardcover give it the feel of a personal keepsake, while the pages leave room for a child to make the journal their own. Buyers often describe the diary as appealing and enjoyable as a gift, though some report problems with the lock and mixed experiences with durability. The lock is a personal feature, rather than a substitute for secure storage.

## What’s included
The set includes one hardcover diary, one padlock, and two keys. Having a second key gives a child a spare if the first is misplaced. The lock adds a simple private-journal ritual: write or draw, close the cover, and use the key to keep the diary shut.

## Before you decide
**How many pages does the diary have?** It has 160 lined pages, providing space for ongoing journal entries, notes, and drawings.

**What can children use on the pages?** The diary is described for use with pens, pencils, crayons, and markers, making it suitable for a mix of writing and creative activities.

**What age is it intended for?** The manufacturer’s recommended age is 5 years and up. Its writing and drawing format makes it a practical first journal for a child ready for a personal notebook.

## Is it worth it?
Choose this diary when a child wants more than a plain notebook: it brings together lined pages for writing, a hardcover with a butterfly pattern, and a lock with two keys. It is especially suited to a first journal or a small gift for a young writer who also likes to draw and colour. The compact format makes it easy to bring along, while the 160 pages offer plenty of room for regular use.
