FIREKI ICEMELT-10-BAG-A Ice Melt, 10 lb Magnesium Chloride with Scoop

Clear a driveway, steps or sidewalk before snowfall with FIREKI Ice Melt. Its pure magnesium chloride formula is designed for outdoor surfaces including concrete. The 10 lb bag comes with a scoop, and the product is effective to -35°F.

Getting the most from it

For a practical winter routine, first clear loose snow and slush from the area you want to treat. Apply the melt lightly and evenly, ideally before snowfall begins, the product description recommends 2–4 ounces per square yard. Once the ice has melted into slush, shovel it away to leave the surface clear. This approach suits everyday upkeep on walks, steps, driveways and decking, where treating early can help manage slippery conditions before they build up.

The supplied scoop makes it easier to distribute the product rather than pouring an uncontrolled pile. Keep the lid tightly closed between uses. For homeowners choosing between a de-icer focused only on melting ice and a formula that also identifies pet paws and concrete as priorities, FIREKI’s pure magnesium chloride composition is a clear part of its appeal.

Strengths

The formula contains pure magnesium chloride, with no additives or colouring, and is described as non-corrosive. It is intended for use on concrete, driveways, sidewalks and decking, and is presented as a pet-safe option for areas where pets walk. These details make it relevant for treating routes around the home as well as larger outdoor surfaces, while the stated working temperature of -35°F supports use in very cold winter conditions.

Timing and coverage are useful parts of the product’s approach. A light application at the start of snowfall can help address ice as conditions develop, while the recommended application rate gives a straightforward starting point for treating a measured area. After melting, removing the resulting slush completes the process and helps keep treated paths clear.

Customer feedback often praises the ice-melting action, including use on pavers. Views on seasonal performance and value are mixed, so the most useful basis for choosing it is its documented formula, intended surfaces, temperature rating and application guidance.
