CAMPLUX THW01S Propane Tank-Top Heater, 10,000–15,000 BTU, Steel

Some outdoor heating setups need compact, portable warmth, others call for a permanent heating solution. The CAMPLUX THW01S is designed for outdoor use, with a portable format for moving between campsites, patios and other outdoor spots.

Its radiant propane burner offers three heat settings from 10,000 to 15,000 BTU. A carrying handle and steel construction make it practical to take along for camping, hunting or time spent outside.

For chilly outdoor breaks, adjustable heat and match-light ignition keep operation straightforward. Where would a portable heater be more useful than a fixed outdoor setup?

Compatibility

The heater connects directly to a 1 lb propane cylinder, including 14.1 oz. or 16.4 oz. cylinders, without an adapter. For use with a 20 lb propane tank, a conversion hose from a 1 lb cylinder connection is required. It runs on propane, so choose a compatible cylinder for the outing and follow the lighting instructions, using a match through the ignition hole.

Tips for day-to-day use

Set the heater up for outdoor use at a campsite, patio, backyard gathering or outdoor activity such as ice fishing. On windy days, position the burner facing away from the wind, when lighting it, stand behind the heater so your body blocks the wind, as directed by the manufacturer. The carrying handle helps when transporting it between outdoor locations, while the three heat settings let you select an output suited to the moment.

Buyers commonly describe the heater as easy to light and appreciate its warmth for outdoor use. Some also raise concerns about durability, and opinions on value are mixed, these are individual customer experiences rather than a measure of expected performance.

Is it worth it?

The THW01S suits outings where portable propane heat and adjustable output are more useful than a fixed installation. Its compact format, direct connection to small propane cylinders and range of outdoor uses make it a practical fit for camping, patios, hunting and other outdoor activities. If you want a heater you can carry along and set to one of three heat levels, this model brings those features together in a steel, radiant-heating design.
