BAGAIL BASICS 15-Pack Non-Slip Stair Treads, 8" x 30", Light Gray

Make indoor stairs more comfortable for everyday trips by adding a soft, grippy surface for family members and pets. BAGAIL BASICS stair treads use a peel-and-stick backing on smooth indoor surfaces, helping provide traction while cushioning footsteps and reducing the sound of steps.

The light gray polyester covers come in a 15-pack, with each tread measuring 8" x 30". They’re machine washable for straightforward upkeep, and the adhesive is designed to peel away without residue when it’s time to redecorate.

Key points

A high-density polyester surface gives wooden steps a softer feel under bare feet and paws, while the non-slip tread is designed to help with grip on indoor stairs. The cushioned felt construction also absorbs some impact sound, a practical benefit in busy homes where footsteps can carry between floors. For households with dogs, children or older family members, covering a run of stairs can make the route feel more comfortable underfoot.

Each rectangular tread is 8" x 30", and the pack contains 15. The light gray colour offers a subtle finish that can sit easily alongside a range of interiors. Buyers often praise the appearance, straightforward installation and effectiveness on hardwood stairs, feedback about adhesiveness is mixed.

Maintenance

For everyday cleaning, vacuum the treads to lift hair and crumbs. They can also be machine washed for a deeper clean, then air-dried to help preserve the adhesive backing. This makes them a useful choice for stairs that see regular foot and paw traffic, where dust and pet hair can collect over time.

Practical tips

These covers are intended for indoor use on smooth surfaces, including hardwood, tile, marble, glass, laminate and vinyl. They’re not recommended for outdoor stairs or aging or unfinished wood. To install, peel off the backing and press each tread into place. The material can be trimmed with household scissors to suit curved, spiral or unusually sized steps, giving you more flexibility than a fixed-size stair runner.

For a typical household, they can be placed across a frequently used staircase to add a softer landing underfoot and reduce the clatter of passing steps. Positioning the covers across the stair run also creates a consistent surface for everyday movement, rather than adding a single mat at the top or bottom.

Before you decide

How many stairs does the pack cover? The pack includes 15 treads. Each measures 8" x 30", so you can plan placement around the number and size of the steps you want to cover.

Can they be used on tile or laminate stairs? Yes. They’re designed for smooth indoor surfaces, including tile, laminate, marble, glass, vinyl and hardwood. They’re intended for indoor stairs rather than outdoor use.

How should I clean them? Vacuum for routine dust, crumbs and hair, or machine wash for a deeper clean. Air-dry the treads after washing.

Should you buy it?

If you want to cover a full indoor stairway with soft, light gray treads rather than use a single runner, this 15-pack offers a practical, cut-to-fit approach. Its peel-and-stick installation, washable polyester surface and cushioning for quieter steps make it well suited to busy homes with children, pets or frequent foot traffic.
