## Description

## Key features
Ultrasonic cues give you a way to redirect unwanted behaviour without a shock collar or physical contact. Could a clear cue paired with consistent training help in the moment? The Arien Q16 is a handheld bark-control and training aid for indoor and outdoor use. Its compact, lightweight design and wrist strap make it easy to carry while you guide your dog.

Press the button to get your dog’s attention with ultrasound, then give a command and reward the behaviour you want to encourage. The device has a control range of up to 50 ft, so you can use it while staying close enough to guide your dog. It is intended to support training around barking and behaviours such as digging, chewing furniture, or eating unsafe food, patience and repetition are part of the process.

The rechargeable design uses a lithium-ion battery, which is included. A full charge takes about two hours, with an estimated use time of about 60 days and standby time of up to 180 days. These figures can make it practical to keep the device ready for daily training as well as short outings. Unlike an approach that relies on fitting a collar, this handheld option lets you deliver the cue directly when you are nearby.

## Usage tips
Keep yourself and your dog within the 50 ft control range, press the button to deliver the cue, and follow it with a consistent command. Reward your dog when they respond as you want. Calm, repeated guidance helps make the device part of a training routine rather than a substitute for your involvement.

Use it in surroundings where your dog can notice the cue. It is not intended for noisy environments, dogs with hearing impairment, groups of dogs, or dogs under 6 months or over 8 years old. These conditions matter when deciding whether the device suits your dog and training setting.

## Best use cases
The portable format suits everyday bark-control practice at home, in the yard, or during outdoor activities. It can also be used as a cue while redirecting behaviours such as digging or chewing, provided you are close enough to follow up with a command and reward. The wrist strap helps keep it at hand as you move around, while USB charging supports repeat use without disposable batteries.

For someone choosing between a handheld training aid and a collar-based method, the Q16 offers a way to give an ultrasonic cue without putting a device on the dog. Its role is to get attention, active guidance and positive reinforcement remain central to the training.

## Practical questions
**How do you use the device during training?** Press the button to get your dog’s attention through ultrasound, then give a command and reward the response you want. Consistent practice and patience are recommended.

**How far away can it be used?** The stated control range is up to 50 ft. Stay within that range so you can deliver the cue and guide your dog.

**How long does charging take?** A full charge takes about two hours. The device is rechargeable by USB and is listed with about 60 days of use and up to 180 days of standby time.

## Final verdict
The Arien Q16 is a practical fit for owners who want a portable, handheld ultrasonic cue for nearby training at home or outdoors. Its 50 ft control range, rechargeable battery, and collar-free use make it a straightforward aid to pair with commands, patience, and rewards.
