Ameristep Jakehouse AMEBL0180 Hunting Blind, 87" x 29", MO Obsession

Some hunts call for a blind that’s easy to carry between locations, others put more emphasis on staying secure when the wind picks up. The Ameristep Jakehouse AMEBL0180 is listed at 1.65 lbs and measures 87" L x 29" H, with ZS3 fabric designed to reduce noise and sheen. Those details make portability and a quieter profile central to its appeal, while buyer feedback raises a practical question about stability in wind.

Highlights

This is a hunting blind for someone who wants a lightweight setup that can be moved to a chosen spot, rather than a heavier shelter intended to stay in one place. Its listed 87" length and 29" height give you a specific size to compare with your intended position and gear. The ZS3 fabric is described as reducing noise and sheen, useful considerations when concealment matters. Stakes and high-wind tie-downs are listed among the included components, so the package includes anchoring pieces as well as the blind.

Buyers commonly praise how light it is to carry and how quickly and straightforwardly it sets up. Some also describe it as effective for their needs. Those positive impressions are balanced by reports that it can feel unstable and may not hold up well in wind. That is worth taking seriously if your location is exposed or conditions are likely to change.

Practical tips

Use the supplied stakes and high-wind tie-downs when setting up, and think about how exposed the chosen spot is. Buyer comments suggest wind can be a weak point, so portability should not be mistaken for dependable performance in breezy conditions. The available product details don’t specify cleaning instructions or weather ratings, follow any care guidance provided with the blind rather than assuming a particular treatment or level of protection.

Getting the most from it

The lightweight design is most relevant when you expect to carry the blind to a position and set it up there, rather than leave a shelter installed between outings. A practical scenario is walking to a hunting location, using the blind to conceal your position, and anchoring it with the included stakes and tie-downs. Its fabric’s stated noise- and sheen-reducing purpose may suit hunters who value a quieter, less reflective setup.

Compared with choosing a more substantial blind primarily for steadiness, the Jakehouse puts portability and a simple setup closer to the forefront. A solid pick if a light-to-carry blind and the listed dimensions suit your plan. It might not be a great match if wind stability is your main priority, given the concerns buyers have raised. The details provided also don’t establish a weather rating, so don’t treat the included tie-downs as a guarantee of performance in difficult conditions.

Practical questions

What comes in the package? The listed components are the Jakehouse blind, stakes, and high-wind tie-downs.

What size is it? The product listing gives its size as 87" L x 29" H. Check that those dimensions work for the position and setup you have in mind.

Is it suitable for windy locations? Buyer feedback includes concerns about stability and the blind being blown down in wind. The included tie-downs are relevant, but the available information doesn’t promise performance in windy conditions.

Buying verdict

Choose the Jakehouse AMEBL0180 when low carry weight, a specified compact profile, and a fabric intended to reduce noise and sheen matter more than a proven record of wind stability. Its listed stakes and tie-downs are useful parts of the package, but the reported wind concerns make it a less convincing choice for an exposed site where staying firmly in place is essential.
