## Description

On a job site, during outdoor work or as a straightforward everyday handset, the AGM M9 keeps calling and texting simple. Would larger buttons and clear fonts make everyday communication easier? Its 4G connection, speed dial and rugged design put essential phone functions within easy reach.

## What to know

The AGM M9 is an unlocked 4G feature phone built for calls and texts, with T9 input for messaging. Its keypad, large buttons and easy-to-read fonts offer a direct way to navigate essential functions, while speed dial lets you reach important contacts with a long press. That quick access can be useful for frequent callers and caregivers who want key numbers close at hand.

For added resilience in demanding settings, the phone has IP68 and IP69K water and dust protection and meets MIL-STD-810G shock-resistance requirements. A loud speaker supports clear everyday calls, and the 2.4-inch LCD keeps the interface focused on basic phone use. Dual SIM support adds flexibility for using two SIM cards. The phone also includes an FM radio, music player and flashlight, so useful everyday features are available without apps or Wi-Fi. Compared with an app-centred smartphone, the M9 takes a more focused approach: calls, texts and practical built-in tools without the added distraction of apps.

## Practical tips

For a new SIM card, activate it in another phone before inserting it into the M9, this can help with initial SIM detection. When installing a SIM, open the slot gently, position the card securely and avoid forcing the tray closed. The M9 uses Nano SIM cards. Its USB Type-C connection and 3.5 mm headphone jack provide familiar wired connection options, while expandable memory supports cards up to 128 GB.

## Who it’s for

The M9 suits people who want a simple phone for everyday calls and texts, or a rugged handset for tough job sites and other harsh environments. Large keys and readable fonts make the keypad straightforward to use, while speed dial reduces the steps needed to reach a regular contact. It can also serve as a focused alternative to a smartphone when built-in calling, messaging, FM radio and a flashlight are the main priorities.

## What to clarify

Is the AGM M9 unlocked for Canadian carriers? Yes. It is described as compatible with major Canadian carriers including TELUS, Rogers, Fido and Bell. Check your carrier’s network bands for your service before purchasing.

Should a new SIM be activated before use? Yes. Activate a newly purchased SIM in another phone first, then insert it into the M9. Handle the SIM slot gently and make sure the card is seated securely.

How does speed dial work? A long press provides quick access to an important contact, helping frequent callers reach that number without navigating through menus.

## Is it worth it?

A solid pick if you want a practical 4G phone that prioritizes calling and texting over apps. Its large keypad, speed dial and readable fonts support easy everyday use, while IP68 and IP69K protection and MIL-STD-810G shock resistance make the rugged design relevant for demanding work environments. The built-in radio, music player and flashlight add useful functions without changing the phone’s simple, focused character.
