## Description

For checking radon levels in a basement or another indoor space, the AEGTEST HOUND-1011S provides readings on an LCD screen and tracks changes over time. Its semiconductor sensor takes an initial reading within 12 hours and updates measurements hourly, giving you more context than a single quick check.

The portable detector displays results in pCi/L or Bq/m³, so you can use your preferred measurement unit around the home or while travelling.

## Quick overview
The HOUND-1011S is designed for both short-term checks and longer-term radon monitoring. Its screen can show readings across 12-, 24-, 48-, 72- and 96-hour periods, while on-device history lets you review concentration trends extending up to 504 days. That makes it easier to see how readings change rather than relying on one isolated result.

Audible and visual alarms provide additional notice when the detector signals a reading. The rechargeable battery supports flexible placement, and a Type-C cable can keep the unit running continuously during extended monitoring. In sleep mode, standby time is up to 45 days per charge.

## How to use it
Place the detector in the indoor area you want to monitor, such as a basement, and allow time for the first reading to appear. The initial reading is available within 12 hours, after that, measurements refresh hourly. You can restart a test when needed and use the display to follow readings over the available short-term periods or view longer-term history.

For useful sensor readings, keep the unit away from direct strong light and use it where humidity is below 90%, as both conditions can affect measurements. The included stand can support placement on a surface, while the lanyard offers another way to carry the compact device. Use its rechargeable battery for flexible placement or connect the Type-C cable for continuous operation.

## Who it’s for
This detector suits homeowners who want to monitor radon in a basement or other indoor area and review changes over time. The two selectable units, on-device history and hourly updates are useful for people who want more than a one-time reading. Its portable format also makes it practical to move between indoor spaces when you want to monitor different areas.

Buyer feedback often highlights straightforward operation and the usefulness of the information shown. Opinions are mixed on measurement accuracy and data recording, so the unit’s stated monitoring features are best considered alongside your needs for ongoing awareness and trend review.

## Buying verdict
Choose the AEGTEST HOUND-1011S when you want a portable radon detector with both audible and visual alarms, selectable pCi/L or Bq/m³ readings, and a long history available on the device. Its hourly updates and multiple viewing periods support routine checks, while Type-C continuous operation is useful for extended monitoring in a fixed indoor location.
