## Description

For a home office, dorm room or shared charging area that needs more plug-in points and USB charging, the Addtam wall outlet extender combines five AC outlets with four USB ports in one three-sided unit.

The layout includes two USB-C ports, while the spaced outlets leave room for a range of connected equipment. Surge protection rated at 1800J adds a practical layer of protection for devices plugged into the extender.

If your priority is charging several phones and other USB devices beside your outlet, the built-in USB ports keep those connections together. If you mainly need extra AC sockets, the five outlets provide that capacity while still leaving USB charging available.

## Tech summary

The three-sided design spreads the five outlets across the unit, with 1.7 inches of space between sockets to make room for plugs. Four USB ports—two USB-A and two USB-C—provide a direct charging point without taking up an AC outlet. The USB ports share a total output of 4.5A, each USB-A port supports up to 2.4A, and each USB-C port supports up to 3A. Smart charging technology detects connected devices and adjusts charging speed automatically. USB-C ports are not suitable for devices requiring 14–22V charging voltage.

- Type: Wall outlet extender with surge protection
- AC outlets: 5
- USB ports: 4 (2 USB-A and 2 USB-C)
- Surge protection: 1800J
- Voltage: 240 volts
- Colour: White

Surge protection uses three circuit components—TVS, MOV and GDT—and the unit has a “Surge Protected” indicator light. It also includes overload, short-circuit, over-current, over-voltage and overheating protection, with automatic power cut-off during an overwhelming voltage surge. The fire-resistant casing and ETL certification are additional documented safety features.

## Everyday use

Set up a compact charging point near a desk, bedside table or dorm workspace, with room for AC-powered equipment and USB devices in one place. The three-sided arrangement helps separate plugs, while the USB ports leave the AC outlets available for other connections. It’s a useful format when you want a single wall-mounted hub rather than a separate USB charger alongside a power strip.

## Practical tips

For installation on a duplex outlet, use the included screw to secure the extender, the rear plastic prong also contributes to stability. When using it with a USB receptacle or GFCI outlet, the plastic prong must be cut off before use. Place larger plugs across the three sides to make use of the spacing, and check the charging-voltage requirement of a USB-C device before connecting it. The indicator light shows when surge protection is active.

## Final verdict

The Addtam extender brings together five AC outlets, four USB charging ports and 1800J surge protection in a three-sided wall design. It suits a home office, dorm room or shared charging spot where several devices need a convenient place to connect, with both USB-A and USB-C charging built in.
