## Description

Set up a bedside charging spot or add outlets beside a home office desk with the Addtam AD5004 outlet extender. Its five AC outlets and four USB ports bring everyday plug-in and device-charging options together at one wall outlet.

The three-sided layout spaces the AC outlets apart, helping larger plugs share the extender without crowding each other. Two USB-A and two USB-C ports provide another way to charge compatible devices.

Surge protection is rated at 1800 joules. A status light indicates when surge protection is active, while the unit’s protective functions are designed to cut power in response to specified electrical faults.

## Who it’s for
This extender suits home offices, dorm rooms, bedrooms, kitchens and other spots where several devices need power in the same area. Use the AC outlets for items such as a laptop, printer, television or humidifier, and the USB ports for compatible phones, tablets, smartwatches or cameras. It can help keep charging cables and plug-in equipment together rather than spreading them across separate adapters.

Compared with a basic single-outlet adapter, the AD5004 offers more connection points and a choice of AC or USB charging. Its wall-plug format is designed for a duplex outlet, with a stabilizing post, for some outlets, the manufacturer notes that the white plastic post may need to be trimmed for use. The plug is Type B, the North American three-pin style.

## Where it shines
The three-sided arrangement is useful where plugs of different shapes would otherwise compete for space. For example, a desk setup can use the AC outlets for a laptop, printer and other equipment while USB ports handle compatible personal devices. Smart charging detects connected devices and adjusts the USB output automatically, and the wider spacing helps reduce outlet blockage from larger plugs.

Surge, overload, short-circuit, overcurrent, overvoltage and overheating protections are built into the unit. The surge-protection indicator gives a quick visual cue when that protection is active. Buyer feedback often appreciates having AC and USB connections in one compact charging point, though comments on wall-outlet fit and USB charging speed are mixed.

## When it makes sense
Choose the AD5004 when you want a wall-mounted power point that combines several AC outlets with USB-A and USB-C charging, especially around a desk, bedside table or shared room. Its mix of widely spaced AC connections, four USB ports and 1800-joule surge protection makes it a practical fit for organizing everyday electronics in one place.
